Our Book Project - A Record of Shepparton’s Progress To mark Shepparton's Sesqui-Centenary, 1860 - 2010, of being Gazetted a Township; members of the Shepparton Heritage Centre Inc. have researched a book detailing Shepparton's growth over the 150 years. The book “Water: the Vital Element, 150 Years of Shepparton’s Growth”, has been authored by Martin Summons and blends an interesting narrative with many historic events, and anecdotal stories. The book features many previously unpublished photos from our Archives.  A selection of book illustrations forms a photographic exhibition, and is currently on display at the Shepparton Eastbank Centre. Water: the Vital Element, 150 Years of Shepparton’s Growth was launched on Tuesday 28th September, 2010 - 150 Years to the day since proclamation in 1860.
